New Bikes for Inclusive Cycling Centre
East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Inclusive Cycling Centre, based at Shobnall Leisure Centre, received a generous contribution from Shobnall Parish Council to purchase two new adapted bikes. The Centre now boasts twenty adapted and nineteen cycles which cater for children as young as two and the variety of bikes allows people with any disability the opportunity to cycle in a safe and organised way. The Inclusive Cycling Centre is open daily for families, community groups and schools to access. Each booking is fully supervised by trained cycling staff which will assist all participants when using the bikes. Daily booking is required, please contact Shobnall Leisure Complex on 01283 508180 or for weekly community group or school use please contact Neil Brown on 01283 508192.
Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Service Commissioning, said:
“I would like to thank Shobnall Parish Council for their generous contribution. By working together both Shobnall Parish Council and East Staffordshire Borough Council are meeting the needs of the community. The Inclusive Cycling Centre is proving popular to schools and families, not only from East Staffordshire, but from the surrounding towns and the two new adapted bikes further improve the facility.”
Margaret Hoare, Shobnall Parish Councillor said:
“We were very happy to make a contribution towards the two new adapted bikes. Hopefully not only will the people of Shobnall make use of the bikes but also the residents and community groups of East Staffordshire.”
